Withdrawal from programs at Fisher College are subject to certain deadlines and regulations.  Dropping or withdrawing from a course or all courses will result in pro-rated tuition charges based on the date of withdrawal. 

Students living on-campus in any Fisher College residence hall will be charged in accordance with the tuition withdrawal schedule.  The percentage of refund will first be applied to semester charges.  

Please note: your financial aid award may be adjusted due to your date of withdrawal.

Room and board refunds are not available to students who remain enrolled in the college and change their residency from on-campus to off-campus status following the start of the semester.

Tuition Assistance (TA) Withdrawals

Fisher College will return, to the VA, any unearned Tuition Assistance (TA) funds on a proportional basis through at least the 60% portion of the period for which the funds were provided. 

GPS Undergraduate

Students enrolled in the GPS Undergraduate program are eligible to receive full credit for their tuition and fees if they withdraw prior to the end of the add/drop period.  Students receiving federal financial aid funds and withdraw after the conclusion of the add/drop period are subject to a financial aid adjustment according to federal guidelines.

Graduate Programs

Checks

• Checks can be personal checks, bank checks, money orders or 529 plan checks payable in US dollars
• If you choose to send a check using regular mail, please send it to: Fisher College Student Accounts Office, 118 Beacon Street, Boston, MA 02116
• Please be sure to make checks payable to Fisher College
• Remember to include your name and student ID number on the front of each check

Credit Card 

• Credit card payments are accepted online through your MyFisher account or by visiting via our online payment option
• Fisher College accepts VISA, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover
• For the protection of your data, Fisher College does not accept credit card payments over the phone

Wire Transfers

• To request wire transfer instructions, email bursar@fisher.edu  
• If you drop a course that was paid for with a wire transfer and you have a credit on your student account, that credit will be returned to the source of the wire

Monthly Payment Plan

• Payment Plans are offered throughout the academic year for each specific semester in each division
• Payment plans are not available for the summer sessions

Return of Tuition Assistance

Military Tuition Assistance (TA) is awarded to a student under the assumption that the student will attend school for the entire period for which the assistance is awarded. When a student withdraws, the student may no longer be eligible for the full amount of TA funds originally awarded.   

To comply with the Department of Defense policy, Fisher College will return any unearned TA funds on a prorated basis through at least the 60% portion of the period for which the funds were provided.  TA funds are earned proportionally during an enrollment period, with unearned funds returned based upon when a student stops attending.  These funds are returned to the Military Service branch.

Instances when a Service member stops attending due to a military service obligation, the educational institution will work with the affected Service member to identify solutions that will not result in student debt for the returned portion.

Schedule for Return

• Excuse tuition for that term. Any payment made will be credited to the student’s account.
• Post a leave of absence for the term to hold a place for the student when he or she returns.

Program Costs, Billing, and Financial Aid

Students who participate in an approved Fisher College Study Abroad Program will be assessed tuition charges and comprehensive fees equivalent to the standard semester charges. In some instances, however, the cost of your individual program may exceed the full amount of these base charges. When this situation occurs, the student will be assessed an additional “International Program Fee" which will be posted to your student account. The total of your per semester charges (tuition, comprehensive fee and International Program Fee) will not exceed the program costs paid by Fisher College. The semester charges and program fees posted to the student account are payable to Fisher College by the student. Subsequently, Fisher College remits payment on your behalf to our affiliated Study Abroad Program administrator.

Commonly, at the beginning of the program application process, a deposit of approximately $500- $1000 is required to be paid directly to the affiliated program administrator by the student. Please refer to your specific program to determine the exact amount of the deposit. In addition, it is the responsibility of the student to determine and confirm the full extent of the services (tuition, room, board, travel, etc.) covered by the program cost as outlined above.  Students must remit a copy of the final invoice to the Office of the Bursar for final payment confirmation. Fees for additional services not outlined in your program will be the responsibility of the student. A student may, opt into the Fisher College Student Health Insurance if they wish to seek additional insurance coverage. Please refer to the Fisher College website for information on the student health insurance program. Tuition insurance through Fisher College partnership with Liberty Mutual, remains available to students studying abroad. Federal and state financial aid awards, including grants and loans, are available to eligible students who are participating in the Study Abroad Program. All Fisher College institutional aid and grants are not available during the period of participation. We encourage students to research and apply to scholarship funding that may be available directly through the Study Abroad Program.

Student accounts not paid in full by the due date are considered delinquent.  Failure to pay in full will result in holds being assessed to the account.  Holds will prevent access to future registration, transcripts, receipt of diplomas, and other Fisher College services.

Students with overdue balances will be reported to a collections agency.  All accounts referred to the collection agency will also be reported to the national credit bureaus.  The student will be responsible for all collection fees associated with efforts to collect on monies owed.  Prior to any future registrations, Fisher College reserves the right to require payment in full regarding previously delinquent accounts.
