Undergraduate Online Admissions Requirements

To apply for an online undergraduate program, students must:

Complete an Online Undergraduate Application

To be accepted, students must provide:

Proof of High School completion or equivalent (GED)
College transcripts from any previously attended colleges
- Students who have completed an associate degree do not need to submit high school transcripts
- Official transcripts are required prior to starting classes

Meet program specific requirements, outlined below
Provide unofficial transcripts demonstrating the completion of a bachelor's degree. If accepted, official transcripts are required prior to starting classes.
Personal essay or Statement of Purpose addressing ONE of the following:
- In 300-500 words, describe and articulate how obtaining this degree will help further your career, and how your career and experiences to date have prepared you for this degree or career path.
- 60-Credit Counseling Psychology Only: In 400-600 words, describe and articulate how obtaining this degree will help further your career and how your career and experiences to date have prepared you for this career path. Based on this, identify the populations that you hope to work with and those with whom you think you would work successfully.
Two current (not more than 1 year old) letters of recommendation supporting their admission. Letters of recommendations should be from individuals with whom they have worked closely in a professional or academic setting.

Transfer Credits

Students may transfer up to 9 graduate credits transferred from another regionally accredited graduate program. A minimum grade of B- is required.

International Applicants

In addition to the general admissions requirements, international applicants must also meet the following minimum qualifications to be considered for unconditional admission to the program.

TOEFL internet-based test score: 80
TOEFL paper-based test score: 550
TOEFL computer-based test score: 210
IELTS band score: 6.5
Official English translations of all required academic documents
A notarized, current bank statement verifying that the student has a minimum of
$48,000 U.S. dollars in cash account available for his or her use for the program. If the bank account is not in the student’s name, then a notarized letter of support should accompany the notarized bank statement from the holder of the account. Most consulates around the world require the student is able to pay for his or her entire program of study.

* Required from candidates whose native language is not English and who have not earned a bachelor’s or master’s degree from a regionally accredited U.S., U.K., Canadian, Australian, or New Zealand college or university.

Course Waivers

The following courses can be waived based on undergraduate coursework completed with a grade of B- or higher:

MBA5020 Management, Teamwork, and Empowerment Principles of Management and Organizational Behavior
MBA5500 Marketing, Management, and E-Commerce- 6 credits of marketing courses
MBA5250 Strategic Cost and Profitability Analysis – 6 credits of accounting courses and 3 credits of finance courses

Provisional Acceptance

Students who do not possess the foundation course work requirements will be on probation for the first 12-week term of the program. Students admitted provisionally may take no more than six graduate credits toward the MBA degree. Foundation coursework must be completed before or at the completion of six graduate credits. Upon completion of required foundation coursework, with a grade of C- or higher, the admitted student will be granted unconditional admission.

Criminal Justice

GPA requirements

A cumulative GPA of 2.7 or higher is required for undergraduate degree programs. Successful completion of a graduate degree program is sufficient.

Letters of Recommendation

Applicants are required to submit two current (not more than 1 year old) letters of recommendation supporting their admission. Letters of recommendations should be from individuals with whom they have worked closely in a professional or academic setting.

One recommendation letter must be from a present or former supervisor.
For applicants presently enrolled in higher education or graduates within the past 2 academic years, the second recommendation should be from someone who can speak to your academic aptitude. Otherwise, the second letter of recommendation will be accepted from a present or former supervisor.

Provisional Acceptance

Students who do not meet the requirements for admissions may be provisionally admitted to the program. Students admitted provisionally may take no more than six graduate credit hours toward the Master’s In Criminal Justice degree. After successful completion with a grade of B- or better, provisionally admitted students will be granted admission.

Counseling Psychology

Completion of a bachelor's degree in psychology or human services with a minimum GPA of 3.0
Interview

Letter of Recommendation

One letter must be from a present or former supervisor. For applicants presently enrolled in higher education or graduates with the past 2 academic years, the second letter should be from someone who can speak to your academic aptitude. Otherwise, a second letter will be accepted from a present or former supervisor. Both letters should not be more than one year old.

Provisional Acceptance

Students who do not meet the requirements for admission may be provisionally admitted to the M.A. in Psychology (30-credit). After successful completion of a minimum of 9 credits with a GPA of 3.0 or higher, provisionally admitted students will be granted unconditional admission.

Health and Immunization Records

Massachusetts law requires incoming students provide proof if immunization. This applies to all health science student. Health science students at Fisher College MUST demonstrate the following immunities:

TDaP immunization
MMR blood titers: one for measles, one for mumps, and one for rubella
Hepatitis B blood titer
TB test result upon application

Completion of at least 3 psychology or human services courses, including Introduction to Psychology or Introduction to Human Services with grades of B- or better in each.

Provisional Acceptance

Students who do not possess the undergraduate foundation coursework requirement may be provisionally admitted to the program. Students admitted provisionally are required to complete 3 psychology or human services courses at the undergraduate level. Foundation coursework must be completed before or at the completion of nine graduate credits. Upon completion of the required foundation coursework, with a grade of B- or better, the provisionally admitted student will be granted unconditional admission.
