Winter Walk is a 2-mile walk around Boston, imitating what several homeless citizens experience each brutal winter in New England. Beginning at Copley Square, housed and unhoused people walked shoulder-to-shoulder through Beacon Street, concluding the walk in the Boston Common. Both unhoused and housed participants were greeted with a hot meal at the end of their walking journey.
Winter Walk fundraiser at Fisher College surpasses goal
Earlier this February, Deputy Director of Winter Walk, Amanda Grant-Rose, stopped by the Fisher College campus to lead a resourceful and interactive lecture for our Falcons. Her topic was on the Winter Walk initiatives in the city of Boston.

Following Amanda’s visit, a group of students organized a fundraiser to join the walk and bring awareness to our community. This effort was led by Fisher Librarian, Joshua Mckain and Professor Jennifer Weiner. Over a few days, Falcons were able to surpass their goal and raised $330 for Winter Walk.
“Fisher Falcons were excited to join the walk and hear stories from those impacted. It is a great reminder to us all that we should always care about all of our community members and give back.” said Joshua.
In 2022, Winter Walk raised $1 million for the homeless in Boston, and all donations were made to Boston’s non-profit organizations working to ease those who are suffering.
