As a Fisher College student in Boston, I consider myself fortunate to have access to so many activities and events happening in the city. The college’s location in the heart of Boston allows me easy access to things happening in my own backyard -- or a quick “T” ride away. As summer approaches, spending a summer day enjoying music and or favorite artists is at the top of my to-do list, and with music festivals and concerts in mind, here are some of my favorite picks taking place this summer.
Boston Calling Music Festival
Calling all music festival lovers… this festival is for you! The Boston Calling Music Festival is a three-day festival during Memorial Day Weekend— and one of New England's biggest music festivals. This event will take place at Harvard's Athletic Complex May 26-28 with headliners Foo Fighters, The Lumineers and Paramore and over 50 artists who will perform, including big name artists like Niall Horan and Maren Morris.
Country Artists Coming to Boston
An incredible line up of country artists will perform in Boston this summer. In fact, there will be three country artists performing live at Fenway Park:
- Kane Brown - Friday, June 23, 6pm
- Morgan Wallen - 3 shows - August 16, 17, and 18 at 7pm
- Zac Brown- August 19, 7pm
And that’s not all!Thomas Rhett will perform Saturday, July 8, 7:30pm at TD Garden.
Arctic Monkeys
If you aren’t familiar with this unique band, Arctic Monkeys is an English rock band that formed in 2002 with a mix of Brit-pop and hard rock in their music genre. Their top hits include “505,” “Do I Wanna Know,” and “A Certain Romance.” They’ll perform Sunday, September 3, 8pm at TD Garden.
Pink
Three-time Grammy-award winner Pink will also be at Fenway Park this summer for her eighth concert tour, Summer Carnival 2.0! This concert is in support of her ninth studio album, Trustfall. In her cover story published in Women's Health magazine, she talks about this upcoming tour and says she is "kind of like a circus act" and they are "always on the lookout for new cool things that you might not die from." She’ll be in Boston July 31 and August 1, 6pm.
