Late-Night Eateries in Boston

It’s not uncommon for a Fisher Falcon to take advantage of the abundant eateries with diverse menus, many open 24/7 —almost a necessity for students craving a bite after a night out, or for those who seek an early breakfast to fuel up for a day of classes. Here are 4 must-stops to satiate your hunger:

As a Fisher College student in Boston’s Back Bay, I’m fortunate to have access to some of the best bakeries and late-night eateries within a walking distance, or even a quick “T” ride away outside of my neighborhood, especially when a late-night craving strikes.

Bova’s Bakery

Family owned since 1926 and open 24/7, Bova's Bakery is located in the North End of Boston (134 Salem Street). This establishment has been baking Italian goodies ranging from a cannoli to fresh-from-the-oven Italian bread, and so much more. A recent review from Chloe N stated, “The huge problem here is you can't just pick one thing! The prices are so fair too! Something like this would be double the price elsewhere.” This bakery has all the food to settle your late-night cravings, even when you’re on a tight budget.

Doughboy Donuts

This classic Southie (South Boston) restaurant might appear old school, but don't let its facade fool you! What awaits inside are shelves lined with a gorgeous rainbow of frosted carbohydrates, replenished consistently. Traditional staples of Boston cream and jelly-filled doughnuts are available, but untraditional are doughnuts rocking tie-dyed purple and blue frosting or crunchy Fruity Pebbles cereal. A recent testimonial from a customer under the name of Troy said, “The service and pastries are great and some of the best coffee in town." Located just off of the Broadway red line “T” stop on 220 Dorchester Avenue, Doughboy Donuts, a 24/7 donut shop, is well worth the ride to settle all the cravings.

South Street Diner

Whether you’re hungry for a 1am breakfast or dinner, this fun retro diner opens its doors every morning, noon, and night for customers to chow down on towering milkshakes, hamburgers, and plates of griddle-fried French toast. A recent review from a customer under the name Jerry I. wrote about the friendly staff: “Great place to get a great omelet 24/7. I found this place near my hotel on a business trip and had a great lunch with super friendly people!” Even late-night reservations are accepted. The fun and retro South Street Diner is open 24 hours and is located at 178 Kneeland Street.

Tasty Burger

One of the most well-known burger joints in Boston is Tasty Burger. Open until 4am on weekends, Tasty Burger has been one of the most beloved places in Boston since it opened its doors in 2010, behind the historic Fenway Park. (Worth noting is from 2014-2020, Tasty Burger was named the official burger of Fenway Park.) Their online reviewers rave about just how amazing Tasty Burger is, especially Paula W. “The burgers were amazing along with the shakes and oh what can I say about the onion rings! I could order a barrel of them!” Tasty Burger is open daily from 11am to 2am and located at 1301 Boylston Street, where you can get your late-night cravings of burgers, milkshakes, hot dogs, and more.
