Bianca Robinson, a native of Cape Cod, Massachusetts, is currently pursuing her Master of Science Degree in Criminal Justice online at Fisher College. Bianca also completed her Bachelor of Science Degree at Fisher in the bustling city of Boston, which is what originally attracted her to Fisher.
Bianca recalls Cape Cod as a quiet town during winters, but it was always bustling with vacationers in warmer months. She found the city of Boston different from Cape Cod, with its fast-paced life and excellent public transportation.
Bianca chose Fisher for her master’s because she wanted to advance her career in criminal justice and was attracted to the fast-track master's program where she could start her graduate classes while finishing her bachelor’s. Her expectations for the program were initially based on its accelerated nature, but she soon realized that it required a lot more effort to stay on track with her grades. Despite the initial challenges, Bianca is proud of the time and effort she has devoted to her studies. Her favorite class at Fisher was the death penalty course, taught by Dr. Meredith Spencer, whom she admires.
While growing up, Bianca watched popular true crime shows and developed an interest in criminal justice. She wants to work with juveniles in the criminal justice system, hoping to reduce recidivism rates among young offenders. “I want to work with juveniles to reduce recidivism rates because kids deserve to know someone cares for them even if it’s not their legal guardian(s) or parents.”
Bianca is a nature enthusiast who loves hiking, charcoal pencil drawings, and crocheting. “I love the outdoors and seeing the sky as simple as it may sound.” She even sells some of her art pieces online. As a graduate student, Bianca understands the importance of good study habits and organization, but she also understands the importance of staying true to oneself. Her advice to students is to prioritize their needs and set reminders of due dates on their phones.
Bianca will be graduating this year with her master’s in criminal justice and is proud of the time and effort she has devoted to her studies.
