Alumni Announcement
Introducing Erin DiGuardia
On behalf of President Steve Rich and the President’s Cabinet, Fisher College is pleased to announce the hire of the College’s new Director of Advancement and Alumni Engagement, Mrs. Erin DiGuardia (née Tracy). Erin is a native of nearby Watertown and currently resides in Framingham with her husband and their two young children.
Prior to her June 1st arrival at 118 Beacon Street, Erin was the Chief Advancement Officer at her high school alma mater Matignon High School in Cambridge from January 2019-June 2022. After graduating from neighboring Emmanuel College in 2008, Erin began her career in higher education in 2010 at Lasell College (now University) in the Office of Plant Operations before joining Lasell’s Development & Alumni Relations team as the Development Coordinator in December 2012. Then in August 2015, Erin moved on to Mount Alvernia High School in Newton, MA and worked as their Director of Advancement & Alumnae Relations for four and a half years. Having been at two Catholic high schools, one all-female and one co-ed, Erin is excited to be back in the higher education landscape.
Throughout her career Erin has helped achieve important fundraising milestones for the schools she served. In FY14 Erin was a member of the Development team who collectively raised $1 million for The Lasell Fund, a first in Lasell’s history. During her time at Mount Alvernia and Matignon she increased the schools’ annual funds 20% and 35% respectively. While at Matignon, Erin worked with the Class of 1969 during their 50th Reunion to raised over $65,000 towards the school’s new Technology Enhanced Active Learning (TEAL) Lab. In May 2022, after hosting two virtual galas, Erin oversaw Matignon’s 8th Annual Tradition of Excellence Gala which raised $250,000 in scholarship funds. Erin also enjoyed volunteering on her alma mater Emmanuel’s Alumni Association Board of Directors from 2015-2021.
Working with alumni, parents, students, the Board of Trustees, faculty & staff and friends brings Erin great joy and satisfaction in her work to advance a school’s mission. She knows her time at Fisher College will be no different and is very eager to get to know the variety of graduates who have hailed from Beacon Street throughout the College’s various lifecycles. As Director of Advancement and Alumni Engagement, Erin reports to Bob Melaragni, Vice President of Enrollment and is looking forward to working closely with her colleague Mike Oliveira ’11, Assistant Director of Advancement & Alumni Engagement.
“I’m thrilled to have joined the Fisher community. It has such a strong legacy of learning in the Greater Boston area. I can relate to the history and evolution of Fisher over the decades because I’ve been educated or worked at institutions with similar histories," shared Erin. “The mission and vision of Fisher are making a daily impact on our deserving students, who will someday bring that same mission and vision to life in their workplaces and communities as thousands of Fisher alumni have before them”, she added.
In our 120th year as Fisher College prepares to welcome the Class of 2027, please join us in also giving Erin a warm welcome. She looks forward to visiting and getting to know the College’s alumni network and hopes that alums reach out as well. You may connect with Erin at ediguardia@fisher.edu or 617-236-8822.
