The Detective Mario Oliveira Scholarship

Detective Mario Oliveira has a scholarship named for him for students applying for a Master of Science in Criminal Justice.

After being violently injured in the line of duty, Detective Mario Oliveira dedicated his service to educating and advocating for police officers and their families. His work focuses on providing support to those coping with serious or fatal injuries in the line of duty. 

The Detective Mario Oliveira Scholarship is open to all law enforcement officers, and family members of fallen officers, who wish to pursue a Master’s Degree in Criminal Justice, and demonstrate enthusiastic ambition and commitment to the field. This scholarship has been created to honor his legacy and encourage the same valiant spirit to those serving in the field and pursuing graduate level education in Criminal Justice.

Scholarship Details

  • 25% tuition discount for the Master's Degree in Criminal Justice program*  
  • Multiple scholarships awarded annually 

*Note: this scholarship cannot be combined with other Fisher College scholarships or discounts

Scholarship Eligibility

  • All law enforcement personnel employed for at least one year
  • Immediate family members of fallen officers
  • Officers permanently injured on the job

Applicable only to new graduate program applicants with an undergraduate GPA of 2.7 or higher.
