East Boston High School Early College Program

In its commitment to creating a seamless transition for graduates from high school to college, East Boston High School is launching its first Early College program, which provides students with the opportunity to take and complete at least four college courses while in high school. These strategically sequenced classes will yield up to 12 transferable college credits AND high school credit at the same time. In addition, participants will also receive a guaranteed renewable scholarship of $23,000 per year for four years to Fisher College.

For sophomores interested in the program, information sessions will be held at the end of term 2. After a short application, applicants will be informed of their status in the first two weeks of term 3.

Early College participants will then begin attending two 30-minute advisory sessions per week in term 3 that focus on college and ELA preparation. Students who may require additional support will be notified that they can attend a voluntary four-day ELA and college prep session in the late spring.

Starting in grade 11, students in the Early College program will take classes on the Fisher campus: English in the fall and math in the spring. Seniors will be allowed to choose from a number of general education courses in the fall and more high-interest courses in the spring semester.
