About the Professional Sales Concentration 

The Bachelor of Science in Management Degree with a concentration in Professional Sales, provides students with a broad business background while also preparing them for a career in sales, a skill that is needed across all businesses and industries.  Additionally, sales skills are transferable to other positions within non-profit and for-profit companies that require key skills including negotiation, communication, and management. A successful sales and distribution strategy is a core component of every business. While sales has always been a key role in organizations large and small, the need for ambitious salespeople who can connect customers with products and services continues to grow.

Learning Outcomes

Students in the Bachelor of Science in Management (BSM), Professional Sales Concentration will have the opportunity to achieve the learning objectives of the BSM, in addition to the concentration-specific learning objectives:

 

  • Demonstrate fundamental and advanced selling skills
  • Appraise customer needs and develop options to meet those needs
  • Employ effective communication and negotiation strategies
  • Demonstrate effective planning and forecasting skills
  • Understand and practice ethical sales techniques

 

Professional Sales Career Track

A degree in sales can lead to a variety of lucrative career pathways including Inside Sales, Contact/Support Center Sales, Sales Development Representative, Account Manager, Sales Managers, Business Development, Technical Sales, Medical Sales Rep, and Real Estate Agent  Broker and ultimately, Account/Sales Executives.  Sales professions can be very highly paid driven by results.
