About the Health Sciences Associate Degree
The Associate in Science in Health Sciences program provides students who are interested in the health sciences with a strong curriculum based in the biological sciences, humanities, and social sciences. The curriculum is designed for students whose goal is to transfer to a baccalaureate degree program in biology, healthcare management, nursing or another health science-related program.
Learning Outcomes
This program will provide students with the opportunity to develop the following competencies and ability to:
- Demonstrate a foundation of knowledge in the natural sciences based on theory and laboratory skills
- Use the Scientific Method to gather information and to come to conclusions
- Demonstrate the ability to think critically and to be able to solve problems by collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data
- Display good communication skills
- Demonstrate an understanding of ethical, cultural and social issues in the sciences
