About the Video Production Program
The Video Production concentration within the Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Media Studies at Fisher College offers students a comprehensive education in the art and craft of digital video production. Focusing on-field production and non-linear editing, this concentration equips students with the technical skills and creative expertise needed to tell compelling stories through video.
Students will learn the entire production process, from pre-production planning and camera composition to shooting and post-production editing. They gain hands-on experience using industry-standard software, such as Adobe Premiere Pro, to complete both individual and collaborative projects. While the core focus is on television and video production, the skills learned are highly valued across a variety of industries, including sports marketing, corporate media, higher education, and non-profit social advocacy organizations. This concentration prepares students for a wide range of exciting careers in the growing field of video production.
Video Production Career Track
The demand for media content is continuously growing, fueled by the rise of the internet, social media, and streaming platforms. As a result, the entertainment industry offers a wide range of exciting career opportunities for video production graduates. Students can pursue creative roles such as Screenwriter, Director, or Editor.
In addition, technical positions like Camera Operator, Production Assistant, and Audio Assistant are essential to the production process and offer hands-on experience in the field.
