Skills You’ll Learn in Early Childhood Education Courses 

  • Teaching: Practice developing curricula that meet the needs of infants, toddlers, and preschoolers with varying developmental, physical, cognitive, behavioral, and developmental needs. 

  • Holistic Attention: Consider the interrelationship of a child’s family, school, community, socio-cultural, and historical contexts and how these play into development and relationships in the self, family, and community. 

  • Wellness: Cultivate practices for observing and attending to young children’s health, safety, and nutrition. 

  • Intervention: Learn when and how to compose individualized family service plans (IFSPs) and implement Early Intervention (EI) strategies for children aged three and under. 

  • Management: Explore the roles and responsibilities of a supervisor and mentor to fellow workers in early childhood education contexts.
