Writing and Academic Support Center

Advising is an interactive relationship between an advisor and student that helps to identify and achieve short and long term educational and career goals. Advisors empower students to make appropriate decisions with regard to his or her interests, goals, abilities, and particular degree requirements.
Academic Advisors are faculty members or professional advisors who are prepared to assist and support students in their academic career. They work collaboratively with all student to help navigate the transition to college and monitor your academic progress.

The Writing and Academic Support Center

The Writing and Academic Support Center upholds the mission of the College by helping students become independent learners, critical thinkers and successful students. The Writing and Academic Support Center strives to achieve these goals by offering students professional tutoring and advising.

Professional Tutoring 

The Writing and Academic Support Center is staffed with multiple tutors to assist students with the topics covered in Fisher College classes. They assist students with all aspects of the learning process, including organizational and study skills.

Fisher tutors are experienced with identifying the root of students' academic difficulties and giving students the tools needed to become independent learners.

Students are able to stop by the Drop-In Advising Center during business hours for assistance.  However, students are also encouraged to make appointments with tutors, and take advantage of the service by making a weekly appointment with the same tutor, developing a sound relationship throughout the semester.
