First-Year Academic Advising

Welcome, First‑Year Students

Starting college is exciting, and we are here to help you every step of the way. Meet your advisor, get help building your schedule, and learn about campus resources so you can stay on track to graduate.

What is Academic Advising?

Individual academic advising for new students provides personalized support to help them reach their goals. This service includes assistance in building their first-semester schedule, exploring various majors and career interests, and offering guidance on college policies and procedures.

Additionally, workshops on time management, study skills, and academic success are available to further support students as they navigate their transition to college life.

Why Does Advising Matter?

Staying on track for graduation is essential for any college student, as it helps ensure timely completion of academic goals.

It's also important to explore various majors and career paths to find the best fit for personal interests and career goals. Building confidence in navigating college can make a significant difference in the overall experience, allowing students to take full advantage of the opportunities available to them.
