Academic Advising & The Writing and Academic Support Center

Advising is an interactive relationship between an advisor and a student that helps to identify and achieve short- and long-term educational and career goals. Advisors empower students to make appropriate decisions with regard to their interests, goals, abilities, and particular degree requirements.

Academic Advisors are faculty members or professional advisors who are prepared to assist and support students in their academic career. They work collaboratively with all students to help navigate the transition to college and monitor their academic progress.

Students are encouraged to drop in at the Advising Center during business hours for assistance.
