Fisher College and the McGovern family have established the Dr. Thomas M. McGovern Memorial Scholarship Fund in honor of the eighth President of the College. The fund will provide aid in the form of scholarships to qualified Fisher students and will be disbursed starting in the 2022-2023 academic year. The scholarship(s) will be awarded to candidates based on the qualities and attributes that best embody the generous and compassionate spirit of Dr. McGovern.

“Dr. McGovern was a transformative leader not only as President of Fisher College , but also in his prior role as a faculty member who launched the management program at the Institution.  This scholarship is a wonderful way to recognize his legacy at Fisher College."  current Fisher College President, Steven Rich said.

The funds will provide $2,500 scholarship(s) annually until the fund is depleted. The intent of the fund is to distribute 1 to 3 scholarships annually, with the Scholarship Review Committee retaining flexibility in determining both the amount of the awards and the number of awards given.

The selection process will consider the following criteria: demonstrated financial need and high school/college academic achievement, with a preference given to students who wish to pursue an undergraduate degree in Management (including all concentrations), Marketing, or Sport Management. About Fisher College

For more than a century, Fisher has been changing lives by providing students with the tools they need to compete successfully in today's challenging economy. Though built around the liberal arts, our on campus and online programs reflect our expertise in practical fields like management, accounting, fashion merchandising, criminal justice, biology, information technology, and cybersecurity, to name a few. We believe in educating students through close intellectual engagement with our faculty, meeting together in small-group classroom settings, or with industry and business leaders through internships, guest lectures, and site visits. We take full advantage of the educational resources of Boston, a city both rich in history and culture, and a center of intellectual ferment, entrepreneurship, and scientific advancement.
