Tuition Withdrawal and Refund Policies
Residence Hall Deposit - Refund Policy
Each student will be assessed a $500 refundable residence hall damage deposit. A student will be charged for any damage to College property. If there is no damage and the room/hall is left clean, the entire amount is eligible to be refunded at the end of the year, but will first be applied to any prior outstanding student balances. Requests for refunds should be completed within one calendar year from the date of final occupancy, or may result in forfeiture of the deposit. Refund request forms may be obtained from the Bursar Office or found on the Fisher College Web site.
Institutional Funds - Refund Policy
Institutional aid is refunded based upon withdrawal date and follows procedure set forth in the Refund Schedule. In addition, Institutional scholarships are deemed to have been applied to a student's account following credits to the account from all other sources of student funding. If a credit (refund) balance exists on the student account upon the successful completion of enrollment requirements, graduation, or withdrawal from Fisher College for any other reason, the student has one calendar year from the date of separation to apply for a student refund that has been generated from, or includes, Institutional funds. After one calendar year, Fisher College reserves the right to retract the Institutional scholarships deemed to have created the credit balance. Refund request forms may be obtained from the Bursar Office, the local DAPS campus, or found on the Fisher College Web site.
Tuition Refund Plan
Fisher College takes the cost of higher education seriously. As such, we have specific concerns for the student who suffers a serious injury, accident or illness which forces withdrawal from the institution prior to the completion of the semester. In many instances, this translates to a significant financial loss.
As a result, we now offer a Tuition Refund Plan, developed specifically to meet the needs of Fisher College students in helping to minimize the financial hardship of just such an occurrence. This elective insurance plan provides coverage to full-time Day Division students for tuition, room and board charges, and the comprehensive fee. A.W.G. Dewar, Inc. offers this Plan, which includes the College administrative fee. The Plan does not cover any other miscellaneous fees or charges, and is not available to part-time or Division of Accelerated and Professional Studies students. For information on current rates, please contact the Bursar Office.
This Plan extends and enhances Fisher College's existing refund policy. In the event of medical withdrawal, you are assured of up to a 100% refund (60% for psychological/emotional withdrawal) of covered expenses, even after the College's policy has expired. Specific questions about the Plan can be addressed to A.W.G. Dewar representatives at 617-774-1555.
To facilitate enrollment in the program, eligible students will be automatically billed for the premium cost. If you elect to waive this coverage, you must complete the waiver (pdf) and return it to the Fisher College Bursar Office. The waiver must be received by the Bursar Office prior to the first day of classes each semester.
