On Wednesday, November 8 Fisher College will host its 11th annual Honor Your Veterans celebration, an event that recognizes the service and dedication of U.S. veterans connected to the Fisher Community. This year’s keynote speaker is Andy McCawley,
CEO of the New England Center and Home for Veterans
. Mr. McCawley joined the New England Center and Home for Veterans after a 30 year career in the U.S. Navy as a Naval Officer and Aviator. He commanded a Navy fighter squadron and two ships, including the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln.
Fisher College will present its third annual Distinguished Veterans Award to Richard Cintolo, US Army Guard Veteran and Boston Police Officer. Also attending the celebration are former Distinguished Veterans Award winner and Secretary of Veterans Services for the Commonwealth Francisco Urena, Commissioner of Veterans Services for the City of Boston Giselle Sterling, and “The Singing Trooper” Sergeant Dan Clark will perform the National Anthem and Armed Forces Medley.
Back by popular demand is the World War II M3 Halftrack. After making its way down Storrow Drive, the halftrack will park in front of Fisher on Beacon Street at about 11:45am. Throughout the day, students, faculty, staff, and neighbors are invited to take pictures. M3 Halftracks were widely used during World War II as a communications vehicle.
We invite our neighbors to join us on Beacon Street following the luncheon, to meet our distinguished guests, honor our veterans and learn about the historic military vehicles on site.
