Faculty are encouraged to schedule library instruction sessions for their classes. The Library offers class tours, demonstrations, and hands-on instruction in the use of library materials and basic information literacy skills. Without instruction, most Fisher students never take advantage of even the most basic and useful library resources.
Finding quality information in a variety of formats is not only critical to academic research at Fisher College, but is also an essential survival skill in today's information age.
In collaboration with you, a librarian will customize a session based on the needs of your class. The librarian will introduce your students to print and electronic resources that are available through the Fisher College Library, as well as through the Metro-Boston Library Network.
The best time for library instruction is when students are starting to work on a paper or an assignment that requires research. Please schedule sessions as far in advance as possible.
For more information, or to schedule a session, please contact the library at 617-236-8875 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
