LA401 Employment Law and Labor Relations
Prerequisites: MG 202, LA 204.
This course is designed to increase the students’ awareness of legal issues that they will encounter in the extensive and growing body of law regulating the employment relationship and influencing virtually every area of the field of Human Resource Management. Students will explore, analyze and interpret various aspects of laws surrounding current employment issues. Topics to be discussed include: employment contacts, wrongful discharge, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act, Employment Retirement Income Security Act, workplace safety & security, the function of the National Labor Relations Board, and human resource practice.
