After Applying

Once all of your information has been submitted and reviewed by our office, an Offer of Financial Assistance will be created for you. If you are a first-year applicant, you must first be accepted as a degree seeking candidate before an offer can be created for you. The offer of financial assistance will outline the financial aid that you are eligible to receive for the specified academic year. Please pay close attention to the language contained in the offer of assistance. Depending on the type of aid you receive, the award letter will provide important information about the paperwork and processes that are necessary to obtain federal loans or other sources of financial aid.

All DAPS students will be awarded based on the status (full time or part time) that has been indicated on the DAPS Application for Financial Assistance. The financial aid award will be revised and updated if needed once enrollment has been verified after the add/drop period. The add/drop period is one week after the start of classes.

Missing Documents
If you are selected for verification the Financial Aid Office will request additional documents such as tax transcripts, W-2's or Dependent/Independent Verification Worksheets in writing. The missing document letter will be mailed to the address listed on the FAFSA form. It is the student's responsibility to respond to the written requests. An award letter will not be generated until the verification documents are received. If a student's missing documents are not received prior to 2 weeks before the start of the term, an offer of financial aid cannot be guaranteed.
