The FAFSA (Free Application For Federal Student Aid)
The FAFSA is required in order to determine eligibility for federal, state, and institutional financial aid programs.
The fastest and easiest way to file the FAFSA is online at www.fafsa.ed.gov (opens in new window).
Detailed instructions on how to fill out the FAFSA.
You should indicate Fisher College, Title IV Institution Code Number 002150, Boston, MA, in the College Release and Certification section.
Filing online expedites the process and eliminates many of the potential errors that sometimes occur by filing the paper document. If you are filing the online FAFSA, you can sign the form electronically by using your federal PIN. If you do not have your PIN, you can request it through the Web site www.pin.ed.gov (opens in new window). The Personal Identification Number(PIN) is the code that the U.S. Department of Education uses to identify you online. A PIN allows you to do the following on a FAFSA:
- Electronically sign to speed up the process
- Check the status
- Make corrections
- Fill out an online renewal form next year
It may take up to 72 hours for the federal government to generate a response to you with this PIN. You also have an option to print out the "signature page" and mail it to the federal processor.
You May Also Submit Forms by Mail
You may get paper forms from your high school or by calling 800-4-FED-AID.
PIN Information
The Department of Education mailed a PIN number to most students who applied for aid in the prior year. If you did not receive a PIN number, you can apply for one at the Department of Education's Web site (opens in new window).
