I served for eight years in the U.S. Navy and worked in several human services positions before earning a Ph.D. in psychology (cognitive/biological concentration) from the University of Maine. I have taught courses in Sensation and Perception, Research Methods, Introduction to Psychology, and Statistics in Psychology, and I have conducted research in the areas of perception, cognitive neuroscience, and personality. My present research focuses primarily on personality and individual differences as they relate to competitive attitudes, empathy, and perspective taking. I feel privileged to be able to share my enthusiasm for psychology and scientific inquiry with students, and I'm excited to be a new member of the Fisher College community.
