Cara Parkoff, M.S.
associate college librarian
Office Location: 118 Beacon Street, 2nd floor, Library Reference Room
- B.A., Music and Spanish, Skidmore College
- M.S., Library and Information Science, Simmons College
Ms. Parkoff launched her full-time career at Fisher College in the summer of 2005. Previous to this position, Ms. Parkoff gained experience at both the Hewlett-Woodmere Public Library in New York and at the Billerica Public Library, just north of Boston, where she worked in both the reference and technical services departments. In her role as Librarian at Fisher College, she has the opportunity to catalog and process all library materials, provide interlibrary loan services, advise students, teach library instruction sessions, and answer reference questions asked by students, faculty and staff.
Ms. Parkoff is fluent in Spanish, has spent time in Spain, and has overseen two directed-study opportunities in addition to having taught Elementary Spanish II in the spring of 2013 at Fisher.
Ms. Parkoff is a classically trained double bassist. She has previously performed with the Brookline Symphony Orchestra, in addition to Harvard’s Dudley House Orchestra and Lowell House Opera.
I love being part of the Fisher community. Where else can I: catalog books and films, advise students, speak/teach Spanish, and concertize with my double bass for a PTK Honors Induction ceremony—all in one day?
