In certain courses, students are eligible to take an exam which, if passed, can result in waiver of the course. No course credit is awarded for a waived course. Waiver exams are given at the beginning of each semester. Students interested in having a required course waived should contact the Program Director or Division Chair for information regarding the petition to waiver. When a waiver is granted, a course at an equal or higher level in the same or a related discipline will be required in its place.
Any petition to waive academic requirements or regulations must be made in writing and submitted to the Faculty Advisor or Site Coordinator along with the "Petition for Academic Waiver of Requirements/Regulations" form. The petition needs to be signed by the student, Faculty Advisor or Site Coordinator, and Program Director and submitted to the Dean of Academic Affairs for approval.
