Fisher College is an independent college located on a small campus in the Back Bay neighborhood of Boston, with additional Continuing Education campuses in North Attleboro and New Bedford. The College was founded in 1903 and has cultivated a tradition of providing students in the Greater Boston area with an affordable, quality education.

Female StudentIn 1997, we began offering online classes as a means of reaching out to students who were unable to attend our traditional courses. Today, the Division of Independent Studies through Distance Learning offers a wide variety of certificate, Associate, and Bachelor degree programs to hundreds of students across the country and around the globe.

Online classes are a wonderful way for individuals with busy or unpredictable schedules to pursue the quality education they desire. You can apply to have credits earned at Fisher Online transferred to another school, or you can have credits you've earned elsewhere transferred to Fisher. We run on a schedule of six 8-week terms, and you can log-on anytime day or night to access your course work. Our online classes are student-centered and are conducted by highly qualified instructors (all of whom have Masters Degrees or above) via the Blackboard® course management system.

Keep in mind, distance learning isn't for everybody. You'll need to be motivated, organized, and willing to work independently. You'll also need to have access to a reliable computer that's connected to the Internet. If you have any doubts, take a few minutes to read "Am I Suited for Online Learning?" in our FAQ's section. Then browse through our Web site to find out more about the programs we offer and the classes you'll need to take. You should be able to find all the information you need on our site, but feel free to e-mail the Fisher Online team at admissionsonline@fisher.edu or call us toll-free at 1-866-309-6539 if you have any questions.

Again, I'd like to welcome you to the exciting world of distance learning at Fisher Online!
