International Student Admissions Process

International Students intending to enroll in the Spring Semester should apply by December 1st. Applicants for the Fall Semester should apply by July 1st.

Requirements:

  1. A completed application form. We recommend that international students apply via the International Student Online Application. You must disable any popup blocking and enable cookies in your browser in order to access the payment form and application.
  2. A $50 application fee.
  3. A final official transcript sent directly from your high school. Photocopies of transcripts are not acceptable. Transcripts must be translated into English. If you are not able to provide an official, translated transcript, we recommend that you utilize the services of the Center for Educational Documentation (opens in new window), to provide Fisher College with appropriate documentation. Students interested in attending Fisher College in the January term must have a minimum TOEFL score of 500.
  4. Official results from the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or its equivalent. Fisher accepts a variety of other language examinations, such as:
    • Paper-based TOEFL (PbT)
    • Computer-based TOEFL (CbT)
    • Internet-based TOEFL (IbT)
    • Cambridge PET exam
    • The STEP Eiken exam (Japan)
    • The ESPT exam (Korea)

The minimum TOEFL score required for direct acceptance is 500. Students with lower scores may be conditionally accepted to Fisher, or be required to attend language development courses through our ESL partner, the Language Company. Students take college-level courses at the discretion of their Academic Advisor. (The school code for Fisher College is 3391.)

  5. A notarized, current bank statement verifying that the student has a minimum of $38,000.00 U.S. Dollars in a cash account available for his or her use. If the bank account is not in the student's name, then a notarized letter of support should accompany the notarized bank statement from the holder of the account. Most consulates around the world require the applicant to prove that he or she is able to pay for his or her entire program of study.
  6. Official college transcripts. If you intend to transfer from another college/university, you will need to forward official transcripts from that college as well as written course descriptions.
  7. Transfer Release Form. International students transferring their I-20 from another college or language school must submit a transfer release form and a copy of their I-20 from the last college attended. All transfer students must be in good academic standing, must owe no money to their previous college, and must not have any judicial or criminal complaints against them.
Before you may register for courses at Fisher, you will need to submit the following items prior to your departure for the United States:
