The Online Advantage

The Online Professional Certificate in Personal Fitness Training (PFT) is a collaboration between Fisher College, the College-University Partners Network™, industry experts, internship affiliates, and national organizations. This interactive, comprehensive Web-based Certificate program with a field internship elective course will allow students from around the world to fit courses into their busy work and home schedules, go online wherever they are, and complete the certificate within five months or have up to two-years if necessary. Content and curriculum within each course in the program is designed to present the student with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to implement a unique medically-based fitness model for their future or current clients. Students will learn how to apply their client's health history, goals, and abilities integrating exercise science curriculum and practical training techniques into a systematic model that teaches students to progress their clients through different training levels and phases.

This Certificate is designed for:

Professional Certificate in Personal Training
To earn the Certificate you are required to complete all five core courses and the field internship elective course with a passing grade of (C- or above) in all courses: which includes exams, research projects, and class assignments. Courses are taken in the 3 module format and each module or course is 6 weeks in length. The 3 module series is offered year-round during the Fall, Spring, and Summer terms. The program can be completed in as little as five months or students have up to two-years if necessary.

Advanced Certificate in Personal Training
To receive the Advanced Certificate designation you are required to complete the Professional Certificate and all three Advanced Certificate courses with a passing grade of (C- or above) in all courses: which includes exams, research projects, and class assignments. The Advanced Certificate courses are designed to be completed in the one module format which is 6 weeks in length. Students have up to two-years if necessary to complete all 3 courses. Students may only register for the Advanced Certificate after completing and graduating with the Professional Certificate in Personal Fitness Training. The 1 module Advanced Certificate is offered year-round in the Fall, Spring, and Summer semester.
