THE FASHION SHOW 2008

Each spring, the Fashion Department at Fisher College produces a fashion show. Attended by more than 350 people, this event remains fresh and exciting each year due to the group of student directors enrolled in the Fashion Coordination course. Their energy and enthusiasm is infused into every aspect of the performance, including the selection of music, the development of choreography, and recruitment of local retailers to participate in the show. This year, the latest looks in clothes and accessories were provide by Cache, Banana Republic, James Mason Bridal and two of Newbury Street's vibrant boutiques, Lit and Oilily. An equally enjoyable element of the show was the presentation of the Fashion Design student's original creations. Their collections included tailored jackets, blouse and skirt ensembles, camisoles with shorts, shirts with coordinated pants, and elegantly draped two-piece dresses.

One of the most popular segments of our fashion show is the "Stylist" scene. In 2008, the Fashion Coordination students accepted the challenge to style looks inspired by four captivatingly vibrant and unique fashion influences. Aptly titled Eternal Vision, the stylists portrayed their interpretations of vintage couture, the post-war forties, hip-hop fusion, and an avant-garde rendering of red on black. The formula for its success was a mixture of fashion savvy, insight, humor, and meticulous attention to detail. What ideas can you suggest for us to "style" next spring?
