BOSTON, MA: Fisher College, a private four-year institution located in Boston’s prestigious Back Bay, announced that Paul Francisco, Chief Diversity Officer and Head of Workforce Development Programs at State Street Corporation, will serve as Commencement Speaker at the college’s 114th Commencement Ceremony on May 12, 2018 in John Hancock Hall.
Francisco leads the implementation of State Street’s global diversity, equity, and inclusion strategies. An active member of the community, Francisco serves on a number of non-profit boards including: The Base Inc., Bentley School of Business, and The Bottom Line Boston’s Board of Visitors. Francisco also serves on the Boston University Black Alumni Leadership Council, and is a founding member of Boston Children's Hospital Milagros Para Niños Latino Advisory Council.
“We are honored that Mr. Francisco has agreed to serve as our Commencement Speaker,” said Fisher College President Alan Ray. ”His work on inclusion strategies for State Street Corporation is well known, and aligns with Fisher’s commitment to our diverse community.”
Most recently, Francisco was appointed by Massachusetts Governor, Charlie Baker, to serve on the Black Advisory Board Commission. He is also the recipient of the Boston National Black MBA Association’s 2014 Corporate Leadership Award.
Francisco graduated from Boston University with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science, and from UMASS-Boston through their Emerging Leaders Program for the Center for Collaborative Leadership.
The 2018 Fisher College commencement ceremony will take place on Saturday, May 12 at 11:00 a.m. in John Hancock Hall, located 180 Berkeley Street, Boston, MA. Approximately 300 undergraduate and 24 graduate students will receive their degrees at this year’s ceremony.
Fisher College has a strong history in bringing speakers to commencement that have ties to the community, business and media. Previous speakers include: Alek Skarlatos, Maria Stephanos, Matthew Slater and Reverend Liz Walker.
