FISHER COLLEGE ANNOUNCES SIX TEAMS IN A.I.I. BASEBALL CHAMPIONSHIP TOURNAMENT

Boston, MA (April 17, 2014) – Fisher College, host of the Association of Independent Institution Conference’s 2014 national baseball spring championship tournament, today announced the six teams that will compete for the title May 2-5 at Fraser Field in Lynn, MA, home of the Fisher College Falcons.

The five schools scheduled to participate along with Fisher College include University of Houston-Victoria (TX), Lindenwood University-Belleville (IL), Georgia Gwinnett College (GA), LSU-Alexandria (LA) and Cal State San Marcos (CA). The winner and runner-up of this tournament moves on to the opening round of the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) National Championship Tournament.

"We are excited for the opportunity to bring student athletes from across the country here to the Boston area," said Scott Dulin, Fisher College director of athletics and head baseball coach. "We believe that Boston will have a lasting impact on these players and that these players will have a lasting impact on our community as well."

On Thursday, May 1, the day before the start of the tournament, each participating team will hold a 50-minute practice session at Fraser Field, box lunches and an exclusive tour of Fenway Park will be provided, along with a banquet, at which the All-Conference team will be announced.
