Fisher College announces today that it will continue to provide free hot meals and drinks to Boston firefighters through Friday March 28, 2014 as they continue to work the scene of yesterday’s tragic 9-alarm blaze nearby at 298 Beacon Street.
Fisher College supplied free food for more than 40 Boston firefighters last night during extended hours at its cafeteria located at 116 Beacon Street. The cafeteria will be open today and Friday from 8 a.m. - 7 p.m.
“We’re doing what we can to support our Boston fire heroes and their families during this extremely difficult time,” said Dr. Thomas M. McGovern, president of Fisher College. “They put their lives on the line to protect those in our Back Bay neighborhood and neighborhoods across the City of Boston. We profoundly appreciate their tireless work and their sacrifice.”
Fisher College will also be holding a fundraising concert tonight featuring musical artist Shea Rose at Alumni Hall, also located at 116 Beacon Street. Doors will open at 7:30. The show is open to current students of the Colleges of the Common, which includes Emerson College, Suffolk University, Bay State College, Berklee College of Music, and Boston Architectural College. Students must show a current college ID upon entry.
Fisher College will be accepting donations at the door. All proceeds will go to the families of fallen Boston firefighters Michael R. Kennedy and Edward J. Walsh.
Seating is limited. Students must pre-register below. Bags and backpacks will not be allowed.
