Fisher College is pleased to announce it will be offering its College 101 program to Boston-based high school students starting July 7 through August 14. Fisher College’s 101 program gives local high school students a head start with their academic careers by offering them an opportunity to enroll in specialized six-week college level courses.

“This is Fisher College’s sixth year offering local students the College 101 program,” said Dr. Thomas M. McGovern, President of Fisher College. “We’re a Boston-based college and believe it's part of our mission to give back to the local community of which we’re a part of. By offering high school students the option of taking college-level courses in their backyard, shows our commitment and belief in them and the value of pursuing a higher education.”

This year’s selected students come from local high schools, including Another Course to College, Boston Community Leadership Academy, Brighton High School, Excel High School, Fenway High School, and West Roxbury Academy.

Accepted students can choose from a variety of courses including Introduction to Business, Criminal Justice, Mass Communication, and Psychology. Additionally, students can participate in a paid internship at a Boston-based business. Upon completion of the course, students earn three college credits and are offered the opportunity for Dual Enrollment to earn an additional six credits.

College 101 applications are due by March 8, Student Orientation will be held on June 30, and the Graduation Ceremony will be held on August 14 at Fisher College.
