 February 26 – Marcel Angol:

With February being a Fashion month, we invite Marcel Angol.  Marcel is the CEO and designer for the urban clothing line, Society Original Products which originated in Boston, MA. Co-founders Marcel Angol and Brendan Boyd began selling t-shirts out of the trunks of their cars, then eventually to local shops in 2007. From there, Society slowly grew and evolved into the brand it is today. In only a few years, Society Original Products has gained a large following among streetwear enthusiasts due to its line of fresh tees, hats, pants, sweaters, outerwear, and more. Founder and Ceo Marcel Angol started Society Original Products in 2007, and still conceptualizes and designs most of Society's gear. Angol is responsible for Society's signature logo, which serves as a metaphor for our "backwards" society. Society Original Products gear is made from high-quality fabrics, and is ideally suited to an active lifestyle. With a series of designs inspired by both popular and indie culture, Society's prominence in the streetwear scene will only continue to grow.

 March 26 - Anthony M. Amore:

With March being the  anniversary of the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum heist, we invite Mr. Amore in as he is the Director of Security for the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston. He is responsible for the security and protection of the museum and coordinating with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) to recover the 13 works of art stolen from the museum on March 18, 1990. Prior to joining the Gardner Museum, Mr. Amore spent 14 years with the federal government in the law enforcement and security field. Most recently, he served with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security’s Transportation Security Administration as a key adviser to the Federal Security Director at Logan International Airport in Boston. Mr. Amore served as the Operations Officer and oversaw the training, equipping, and deployment of more than 1000 federal screeners.  Amore will also be teaching a Criminal Justice course in Homeland Security course at Fisher this Spring.

April 9 - Casey Sherman & Dave Wedge “Boston Strong”:

With April being the first anniversary of the Boston marathon bombing, we will invite national bestselling author Casey Sherman and award winning former Boston Herald lead investigative reporter Dave Wedge in to discuss this momentous day in the history of Boston.  Casey & Dave are currently writing “BOSTON STRONG,” a highly anticipated chronicle of the events surrounding the Boston Marathon bombings and promises to provide an inside look into the tragedy and the aftermath - from the searing heat and carnage of the explosions at the finish line where ordinary spectators suddenly became first responders to the dying and seriously wounded, to the intense investigation which led to the lockdown of an entire city during one of the largest manhunts in American history.  Several of our Fisher students are interning for Mr. Sherman and Mr. Wedge this Spring to assist with this process.

“BOSTON STRONG” will be published by UPNE in the fall of 2014. The authors have also sold movie rights to the project to the producing team behind the Oscar winning film, The Fighter and Disney’s upcoming epic, The Finest Hours. News about the BOSTON STRONG book/film made headlines in Time Magazine and major media outlets around the world.

Hope to see you all there!
