StethoscopeBoston, MA (October 22, 2013) – Fisher College is pleased to announce the launch of a new RN to BSN program designed for registered nurses pursuing a bachelor’s degree in nursing.

Planned for convenience and accessibility, the program will be offered on the Signature Healthcare campus at the Brockton Hospital School of Nursing building, beginning in January 2014. The bachelor’s degree program is offered through Fisher College’s Division of Accelerated and Professional Studies (DAPS) and designed for RNs in southeastern MA who graduated from an accredited school of nursing with an associate's degree; or RNs who graduated from an accredited hospital-based diploma program, have active RN licensure and wish to pursue their baccalaureate degree.

“The new RN to BSN program will benefit nurses who wish to continue their education in the local area in a program specifically designed to both promote career mobility and also help nurses meet new requirements for additional education in nursing,” said Dr. Neil Trotta, Dean of the Division of Accelerated and Professional Studies.

Twenty-five students will be admitted in the inaugural class. The coursework will focus on advancing and refining skills in areas such as leadership, ethics, physical assessment, evidence-based practice, patient-centered care, professional portfolio development, caring for diverse populations, and more.

"The RN to BSN Program will offer registered nurses in southeastern Massachusetts a uniquely accessible educational opportunity to complete their bachelor's degrees. Fisher College is committed to designing and offering a quality nursing program locally that will focus on the unique needs of the working adult learner,” said Valerie McCarthy, Program Director for Fisher College’s RN to BSN program. “We anticipate our first enrollments with excitement."
