Dr. Pruitt has been teaching various English and Medical Assisting courses part-time at Fisher since 2006. During the day, Dr. Pruitt is the Assistant Dean of Allied Health Programs at Middlesex Community College overseeing 13 degree and certificate programs. During her tenure at Fisher College, and until 2009, Dr. Pruitt was a Practice Manager at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Norwood and in Foxboro. During 2014, Dr. Pruitt had been working on an instructor’s manual Math & Dosage Calculations for Healthcare Professional for McGraw Hill with anticipated publication in 2015.
Dr. Pruitt’s teaching philosophy is structured solely around the students’ needs (it is student-centered) and is never about her. Dr. Pruitt has found that when teaching there is “no one size fits all.” Her teaching has been facilitated with effective pedagogy and sound theory based on the individual students’ needs.
