CM350 Analysis of Documentary Media

Prerequisite: EN102

A historical survey of documentary practices in film and a discussion of the ethical and ideological issues raised by the genre. Subgenres considered will also include ethnographic approaches and reality TV. By looking closely at a wide range of documentary motion pictures, students will gain new tools for media analysis, historical reference, and production methodology.
