CM300 Communication Theory

Prerequisite: CM201 or by permission of the Program Director

This course will provide an overview and critique of the major theoretical perspectives and models that are vital to understanding communication and interpersonal human behavior.  The course will cover not only major ideas, such as Aristotle’s rhetoric or Roland Barthes’s semiotics, but also will examine the more specific, contemporary concepts of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.
