CM210 Introduction to Journalism

Prerequisite: EN101

This course introduces the skills and knowledge relevant to the practice of professional journalism. It introduces students to the fundamentals of news writing, explaining the variations in format between writing for print, radio, television and for online publications. It describes basic reporting skills, including research for journalism, interviewing and text preparation. It outlines the professional function of journalists and describes the range of professional contexts in the journalism industry.
