Fisher College Vice President Appointed to Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women

(April, 2016) Fisher College is extremely proud to announce that Governor Charlie Baker appointed Carolina Avellaneda, Vice President of Operations and General Counsel, to the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women. 

The Commission is an independent state agency created by the legislature in 1998 to advance women of Massachusetts to full equality in all areas of life by promoting their rights and opportunities.  It provides a permanent, effective voice for women of the Commonwealth and is comprised of 19 diverse members who are appointed by the Governor, Senate President, Speaker of the House of Representatives, and the Caucus of Women Legislators.  

No Evil at Fisher

March 28, 2016 - Disagreement is natural. To some, it's even a favorite pastime. But it seems that instead of talking, listening, and finding common ground, there are those who prefer to get others worked up and turn simple disagreement into "Us vs. Them" or even "Good vs. Evil." When that happens, it can lead to anything from strange looks on the street to fear of others to bullying and even open hatred and violence.

(February 2, 2016) Fisher College is proud to announce that Alek Skarlatos, who was awarded the United States Army Soldier’s Medal and the Legion of Honour, France’s highest decoration, will serve as distinguished Commencement Speaker at its 112th Commencement Ceremony at the John Hancock Back Bay Events Center in Boston, Massachusetts, on Saturday, May 14, 2016, at 11:00 a.m.

Fisher College Partners with WKLB Country 102.5 and Cell Phones For Soldiers to Provide Donations to Veterans Facing Homelessness

(December 18, 2014) Boston – This holiday season Fisher College is taking another step toward its commitment to helping our nation’s active military and veterans. On Monday December 22nd, the college will present the New England Center for Homeless Veterans (NECHV) with a generous donation of calling cards and cellular phones with paid contracts, valued at approximately $5,000.

Five Falcons Earn Conference Accolades

(November 14, 2014) Boston – The Fisher College women's soccer program saw a record five athletes earn conference accolades during the pre-conference tournament banquet in Clinton, IA. Highlighted by Julia Schojan's Newcomer of the Year and 1st Team selection, Fisher saw Kaleigh Mulligan named to the 1st Team while Ashley De Sousa, Holly Lesperance, and Alicia Alex all earned 2nd Team accolades.

FISHER COLLEGE TO HOST 8th ANNUAL HONOR YOUR VETERANS PROGRAM

(November 3, 2014) Boston – Fisher College will host its 8th annual Honor Your Veterans celebration, an event that recognizes the service and dedication of U.S. veterans connected to the Fisher community, on Wednesday, November 5th.

The event will be held in Fisher College’s Alumni Hall at 116 Beacon Street at 12:30 p.m.

FISHER COLLEGE EDUCATES STUDENT-ATHLETES ON DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

(October 1, 2014) Boston – October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and as the NFL and other professional sports struggle to deal with an alarming number of players facing domestic abuse allegations, Fisher College’s athletics department is taking steps to educate its athletes about conduct off-the-field and the ways it can derail a career in sports.

(September 13, 2014) Boston - Fisher College is proud to be on the 2015 list of Military Friendly® Schools for the fifth year in a row. The list honors the top 15 percent of colleges, universities and trade schools in the country that are doing the most to embrace America’s military service members, veterans and spouses as students and ensure their success on campus.
